TRIP DETAILS: SkateNow and Skate Journeys, invite you to join us to skate Idaho! The annual trip is skating along 74 miles of beautiful rail trail in northern Idaho, with full skating over 3-1/2 days, averaging 25 - 50 miles of skating per day, with rest stops, photo opportunities, and water/snack breaks along the way. Overnight stays include hotels/motels with amenities. Participants on this skate tour should be in good physical condition, be experienced skaters, and have strong skating skills: including basic skating strides, turning, and stopping, skating in pace lines, and be comfortable with grades (slight downhills). Skaters should be able to skate a minimum of 15-20 miles per day. Bicycles and Cyclist are welcome to join skaters. Helmets are required for all skaters participating in any SkateNow organized activity. Other protective gear recommended. This skate trip is an informal skating get together, not a hosted skate tour. We meet in Kellog, Idaho and get together to skate over the course of 3-5 days. Participants assume full financial and liable responsibility for themselves and their own costs for reservations, lodging, meals, transportation, incidentals, etc. As courtesy, please inform us if you plan to attend so we can know who/how many skaters to expect. **NEWS!! "VELODROME in DRAPER"
200 meters of smooth stuff coming soon.Updates: Draper city approved a velopark, and pending funding this project is happening. Project will include skating track (200meter), derby/exhibition skating area(100meter), and a criterium track course, and connection to existing Porter-Rockwell trailway. City of Ogden is still working to develop an indoor velodrome. Slow, but definitely forward progress on a proposed outdoor and indoor Velodrome facility here in the greater Salt Lake area. SkateNow has been your skating representative and driving force behind these efforts 110%! Having a 100 & 200 meter sanctioned tracks, along with the criterium track would be crucial in bringing organized roller sports to Utah, for events such as Track Inline Racing and Roller Derby. If you interested in becoming a financial sponsor or volunteer contact us at SkateNow and let us know. If you like the short fast track skating this is for you. We are going the distance to put skating in SLC on the map!
We need your support to make this venue happen!! Please call, write, or email us with your donations or to volunteer on the comittee.
